Android 4.0.3 lands on the Nexus S

Finally the Samsung Nexus S has started receiving the update from Gingerbread to Ice Cream Sandwich. I have to say that I am very impressed with the update.

One thing that you don’t have to worry about this time round is losing any data, I did the OTA update on my Nexus S and I have everything left exactly the way it was before the update, all my apps and SMS messages are still where I left them. You will however lose any root capabilities since it’s a whole new OS. Even my ringtones went untouched in the update.

Samsung Nexus S getting Android 2.3.6 update

Soon there will be an update rolling out for the Samsung Nexus S, the update will fix an issue with the voice search. So it’s pretty much just a bug fix update. I’ve had a look on my Nexus S but there’s no update available yet. The update is supposed to be OTA, which is probably the only way to update the Nexus S, given that there is no PC software for the phone. (more…)
